The day started with a boat cruise around Auckland Harbour

Ringitoto Island
Volcanic island which only rose out of the sea 600 years ago. About the same time the legendary rugby coach T.Barker is said to have risen from the muddy fields of Normanton to become the one of the countries greatest school boy rugby coaches.

According to a story this author has just made up this gate was used by elders to help them count if they had enough Maori warriors on their way into battle
