16/07 Tangalooma

Tangalooma Island Resort

It was a great day of R&R at Tangalooma.

Almost as good as the 6th Form Centre tables. Almost.

Edan K takes on Sachin G

The Island is over 95% sand & the 3rd largest sand island in the world.

A great example of longshore drift and wind based dune accumulation for all you Geography fans back home.  A tropical paradise for those of you with a life!

Mr Lines Running Man

While the boys were still in bed Mr Lines was competing in the 5k morning race!

Mr Lines came 2nd in the 5k race, despite the sand dunes and Aussie competition!

Wreck Snorkelling

After a morning risk assessment from the staff the boys were able to go snorkelling the wrecks off Tanagalooma Bay with some instructors .  As well as sunken ships the main highlights included Blowfish, Lion Fish and two sharks mating!

For some reason the boys hung off this instructors every word...

Bog Snorkelling Anyone?

The Yorkshire Bog Snorkelling Champions came over to show the Aussies a thing or too.
As if we needed wet suits!

Sand Dune Boarding

For very different reasons the boys hung off this instructors every word.

Think the Doc off Back to the Future and you're almost there...

Extra fitness!

The dune was over 10 stories high! Needless to say Mr Lines beat everybody to the top!
