15/07 Gold Coast to Tangalooma

Mr Barker arrives home safe and sound

We are pleased to say despite a 3 hour delay Mr Barker managed to arrive home safe and sound from the long flight home. And in classic Mr Barker fashion he made sure he spent the first few hour back at home writing emails to keep the PE staff on their toes, while no doubt eating more than his share of custard cream biscuits.

Tinks arrives

The boys and staff were delighted to welcome ex-QEGS rugby playing powerhouse, physio and chocolate connoisseur Alec Tinker to the tour. While Mr Barker's shoes may be impossible to fill there can be no doubt the boys will benefit from Tink's expert physio/ osteopath support while discussing the merits of a freshly baked chocolate souffle.

Here Tinks can be seen eating two deserts. The chocolate fudge cake was only so so in his expert opinion.

Donkey's of the Day

Dan P and James C earn this for sneaking out after curfew. Dan looked far to comfortable in his dress and bright orange knickers!

Trip to Tangalooma on Moreton Island.

The short trip from Brisbane to Moreton Island crosses a section of the Pacific famous for its migrating whales.

We were lucky to see one migrating whale from the boat.

One whale was beached

Arrival at Tangalooma

A tropical paradise for some well deserved rest and relaxation. The Lions stayed here during their last tour of Australia. If its good enough for the Lions its good enough for us!

Beach O Clock

Any excuse to get the guns out!

Almost as good as a rainy day in Wakefield. Almost.

Fishing with Louis E

The next stage of QED fishing!

Kookaburra

The symbolic national bird of Australia. Mr Lines and Wesley M even managed to stroke it!

Food for the Dolphins

Amazingly these hungry gannets didn't eat the fish themselves!

Feeding the Dolphins

A very special moment.
